Cornice board valance

I had a ball today working with a good friend creating these cornice board valances!  She talked her husband into getting her some foam board from his shop and we started cutting -- not to mention my finger in the process:(  nothing too major!  Then, we wrapped and stapled fabric.  I'm loving how they turned out!!!

Another baby room

Another baby coming! -- not for me:) for a friend! I sewed up the crib skirt and baby "quilt" here.  The other side of the "quilt" has a soft cuddle fabric.

Also ordered and covered cushions for this chair!

Christmas dresses

A friend asked me to help her recreate this dress for her girls for Christmas.  How festive!  :)

We worked together a couple days and came up with these!  10-12 circle skirts of tulle each!  If only you could see the darling girls that will wear them!  :)

She picked out the perfect embellishments!  A silvery ribbon and then I sewed the black flowers onto it.  Beautiful!

Memory bears

My girls' school teacher asked me to make memory bears for her kids for Christmas.  Her father in law passed away recently, and she saved 2 of his favorite shirts.  I cut pieces out of them and made bears for her kids!

I hope they can be a special keepsake and reminder of Grandpa!

Time to catch up!

You might recognize this fabric!  I made a crib skirt and bumper pad out of these fabrics a couple years ago.  Now those are being passed on to the next family and I got to make pillows and a window valance with some fabric remnants!  So fun!  She wanted grommet top which is always a great way to add interest to a valance!

A faithful customer of mine found a rocker/glider (some kind of chair) :) second hand.  She wanted to start fresh with the cushion cover -- don't blame her!  So, I was given these cushions (original just without the old fabric covering) and then some new fabric.

Tada!  Good as new!

My first t-shirt quilt!

A neighbor/friend asked me if I knew of anyone or would want to try myself to make a t-shirt quilt from her daughter's t-shirts.  I had looked at some on etsy before and was excited to try to make one myself!  I love how it turned out, and I don't have any sentimental tie to the t-shirts!  This has definitely inspired me to save my kids t-shirts as they grow and make one for them!

 * This turned out to be a twin sized quilt

I found a fun fabric to put on the back:)

Does this inspire YOU?  Let me know if I can make one for YOU!

Easter dress

I ordered dresses on zulily for the girls for Easter but as the Easter program date drew closer I realized I hadn't allowed enough time and they wouldn't be shipped in time.  So, I scoured some catalogs from a friend and found this dress from persnickety to make a knock-off. . . .

Mariah and I headed into Hobby Lobby to look for fabrics and came up with some blue-tones.  I had seen the white textured fabric I used on the top earlier and was so excited to have something to use it for!  Here is my version. . . .

And to give you a view of the bow fabric (the original catalog picture I saw had the bow in the back) I'll add this pic. . .

I obviously didn't take special pics for this post but thought I should share these dresses:)  I love how they turned out and ended up liking them better than the ones I ordered on zulily!  Inspiration strikes again:)
